On Election Issues & Journalistic Malpractice

On Initiatives:
Elected Judge Dirk Sandefur has declared voters stupid in his ruling that petition signature gatherers 'manipulated' voters to sign CI-97, CI-98, and I-154. Keep that in mind in the next Dist. 8(D) judicial election. As a signer of all three petitions, brought around by local, long-time residents, I certainly will.

On education spending:
What are we to make of the $1 billion budget announced by the University Board of Regents in the wake of the Kaiser's pledge to freeze tuition? I won't hold my breath for a coherent, factual analysis of the implications for students and taxpayers from Montana media. They're too busy stumping for Jon Tester.

On US Senate race:
Speaking of the organic farmer and real Montanan, why do you suppose the national Democrats began their smear campaign against Senator Burns nearly two years ago? Could he be delivering for Montana, working for our interests, perhaps even speaking for Montana values?

As much as I dislike pork, I must admit that the more hysterical Democrats get over Burns, the more inclined I am to support our good Senator. Most amusing is the irrational hatred displayed by critics comfortably ensconced in academic bubbles and government institutions. If it weren't for Senator Burns' efforts to bring home the bacon, these childish fools wouldn't even be fouling the air of our great state.

Plus, (no small point) Senator Burns is aware that we're at war and supports victory for our folks in uniform; meanwhile, Tester proposes retreat while dangling the Dems' favorite consolation prize to veterans: government handouts. As a vet, I find that about as insulting as it gets.

Run away! Run away! And then Tester and the surrender-monkey Democrats will take care of you!

As our civilization faces barbarians determined to annihilate us, Tester touts wind energy and repeal of the Patriot Act. Yup, his priorities are straight...out of the Democrat handbook.

Great Falls often seems a particularly cloistered community, especially since even local TV news is cued by the print media monopoly. The prevailing attitude here is powerlessness: we love to gripe among ourselves, but just as eagerly lap up the Dems' 'us vs them' propaganda. Our self-anointed 'activists' are quite fond of righteous indignation and petty posturing.

But you're only powerless if you are uninformed. Despite the diligent efforts of the local mainstream media to keep us confused & in the dark, the truth is out there. Yes, it takes some effort to uncover; it takes some mental exercise to sort through the blather to unearth facts. But an uninformed choice in our senatorial election could put not only Montana, but the entire nation, at risk.

I encourage my fellow Montanans to
look up Tester's unsinspiring record in our state legislature, watch the Butte debate, browse online news, or stop by the blogs to get a feel for the 'real' Montana values espoused by Tester supporters. As for the latter, I highly recommend Left in the West (he craves the attention) and DailyKos (a media and Jon Tester favorite).

Slighted firefighters are a favorite topic--in both local media and on Tester's own blog. Isn't it curious how Tester supporters are far more concerned about the hurt feelings of Virginia firefighters than the employment of Montana firefighters, or protecting the property of Montana citizens?

You're no doubt unaware that, while the media dutifully flogs political and corporate connections to Burns' fundraisers, they've carefully ignored Tester's jaunts to Chicago and DC. So who funded Tester's flights to the big cities? And just how much money has he pocketed from those tony fundraisers, especially the ones hosted by Chuck Shumer in DC?

While Tester hobnobbed, DailyKos.com held an
online fundraiser, which netted nearly $7000 from over 3000 leftists across the land. Kos exulted:
"It feels good to buy a politician. And a people-powered-owned politician will beat the heck out of the Abramoff-owned edition any day of the week."

(Perhaps this is why Tester's campaign, Montanans for Tester, has failed to file timely finance reports. They're still trying to figure out how to classify loony leftists from all over the country as 'real Montanans.' Tip: just assign them Missoula addresses.)

So who 'owns' Tester? The DC elites? Or the loony leftists? We might know, if only the Montana media showed the slightest interest...

Now is the time for all reasonable, hard-working Montanans to get informed, get registered and get out to vote. Act like your life depends on it, because it does.

A blow for common sense

Is there something in the air? From lowly bloggers like Matt & Wulfie to the near-hallowed halls of Congress, the Democrats are cracking up like tweakers coming to the end of a four-day run.
Can't you see it? It's that haunted look, that blithering rage, that reality slip't from his clawing grasp...they see conspiracies everywhere!
Let's compare! From:
Senate OKs Terror Detainee Bill
So sayeth the Lion in Winter hisself:

"There is no question that the rush to pass this bill — which is the product of secret negotiations with the White House — is about serving a political agenda," said Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass.

Good news is that, just when I thought the Republicans were comatose, incapable of resisting Dems and RINOs determined to attain the presidency on America's ashes, along comes blunt, straight talk from--dare I say?--a clear-headed statesman:

"We are not conducting a law enforcement operation against a check-writing scam or trying to foil a bank heist," said Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. "We are at war against extremists who want to kill our citizens."

Yay, Mitch!
And yay,
FoxNews! for giving us a report that quotes both sides.
Gee, what a concept.

Contrary to popular Democrat dogma, Americans aren't stupid. Their sense of justice is firmly grounded in survival, not hallucinations of world peace through suicide. They recognize the tweakers, they know how to email & phone, and they are inspired to reach out & touch their Congressmen.

Yay, People Paying Attention!

For those of you in Missoula, this is real people power! The citizens spoke through their elected representatives yet again. Now that must really stick in your craw...

Just obscene

From WA Times, 9-15:
Four Republicans defy Bush over detainees

so, according to John Warner, the truth is that the Supreme Court is in charge of this nation?

But most Senate Republicans, including the rest of the committee's members, support the administration's view that Mr. Warner's bill would limit intelligence gathering and expose classified information to terrorists. They have vowed to fight it out on the Senate floor.
Mr. Warner said he crafted the measure carefully to meet the concerns of the Supreme Court. The high court earlier this year struck down Mr. Bush's current setup for trying detainees held at the U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
"It would be a very serious blow to the credibility of the United States ... if legislation passed by the Congress and signed by the president failed to meet a second Supreme Court review," Mr. Warner said yesterday.

McCain & Warner both wring their hand over "what would other people think!" while the rest of us just hope to survive the next jihad attack--whether from islamofascists or from liberal/left Democrats.

Behold the Empty Suit: Jon Tester!

Have Democrats gone bananas? Or does the Tribune, perennial liberal shill, simply edit to maintain the illusion? Might be hard to say at the national level (since national AP stories are initiated by the New York Times or, as some suspect, the Democratic National Committee's DC office), but it's obvious as a Howard Dean howl at the local level.

Take Montana's US Senate race. Please.
The media bias has been blatant and self-righteous, with nary a pretense of objectivity. While Tester remains to be pressed for any details of his plans beyond "I'm gonna clean up that town," Conrad Burns can't win for losing.

Heck, a suspicious man might think the Dems have an entire staff assigned to promoting stalker video footage and re-editing Burns' press releases to exclude facts. The only reason we hear anything at all about Burns' accomplishments is because the media need some reason to mention Abramoff.

Now, I'm no longer surprised by these tactics, but I am dismayed that so many Montanans appear to buy the BS. You'd think Dems would be delighted that Burns brings home the bacon (which, incidentally, doesn't sit well with us free-market types), especially since so many squat in taxpayer-endowed careers. Instead, they throw fits on cue, a pack of Pavlov's canines conditioned to emotionally react to certain words.

Lately, when I read the Letters to the Editor, browse the blogs, or even peruse the day's headlines, I notice that the authors always seem on the verge of angry tears over some rancid propaganda that a little research easily nullifies. I don't care how rational a die-hard liberal appears to be, just mention 'firefighters and Burns,' and conniptions are sure to follow.

How do people get so uninformed? Well, partly as a result of the incompetent reporting of media enablers, and partly because liberals lack the intellectual and spiritual fortitude to face facts. But mostly because hyper-emotion over Burns' perceived transgressions relieves them from defining the Empty Suit.

Since liberals tend to be self-focused, the less they know about Jon Tester, the better. This allows him to reflect their own attitudes and beliefs; to be whomever they want him to be. As long as they continue to vilify Burns, they don't have to ask themselves the obvious question: Does Jon Tester want to lose this war as badly as do the national Dems?

Bomb 'em all

Have you noticed that Democrats huff about national security, and wax indignant that those who denounce their treasonous remarks, speeches, interviews are questioning their 'patriotism?' Yet what, exactly, have they done to promote national security in the last 5 years?

The Patriot Act? No...they made that all about you (paranoia rocks!). Reid crowed over 'killing' the Act. The ACLU has waged a massive misinformation campaign. And the media continues to issue dire warnings that the rights of some citizen, someday could be violated.

NSA surveillance? No...anything that's the Constitutional responsibility of the President has been magically transferred to courts. I wonder if anybody in Democrat circles has any aquaintance with the actual words of the Constitution--or anybody in the drive-by media, for that matter. Naw, they just make it up as they go along...

Tracking terrorist financing? Hell, no! That's just nosey! Besides, they were coming dangerously close to fingering the source of most of Hillary's campaign funds....

Profiling of mass-transportation passengers? Why that would suggest racism! And the islamofascists would like us even less if we acted like we suspected them of wanting to kill us. Besides, annoying middle-class white folks strikes a blow for the oppressed minorities and soothes the savage bureaucrat's heart.

Club G'itmo/Abu Ghraib? Horrific! Humiliating! Democrats and their media enablers use the same tactics used on Conrad Burns: ad nauseum outrage over (their own) innuendo, accusations, and propaganda. Only blighted Democrats (and their RINO cohorts) could advance the notion that panties-on-the-head is heinous, while the slaughtering of Americans by facists is just George Bush's fault.

Haditha, et al? Never mind the truth--the Dems need a Mai Lai--somewhere, anywhere. Maybe those Hezbollah stringers could help. Dems seem to have no compunction about throwing 'innocent until proven guilty' out the window when it involves a military man accused by a terrorist. Due process apparently exists only for homicidal islamofascists.

Close the borders? Oh, no! That would be unfair to lawbreakers who aspire to vote Democrat. Or might indicate we're a sovereign nation with a right to defend itself from enemies foreign and domestic. Or, horrors!, assert that Rule of Law actually means something in this country anymore

Nope, I'd say the Democrats and media enablers show great dedication to losing this war:
They've worked tirelessly to hinder the most common-sense (and Constitutional) ways of fighting the enemy.
They've consistently championed the rights of terrorists to plot unmolested.
They've purposely maligned our troops and undermined national security programs.
They've focused their rage on Bush, while constantly excusing islamofacists, especially within our own country (see nearest wahabi mosque).

Now there's a resume for a patriot!

ps. wondering why this is titled 'Bomb 'em all?' Well, I'll tell ya anyway...I hope this pops up in an internet surveillance program, just so those guys know this is one American who believes SURVEILLANCE ROCKS! Thank you to the folks who toil in backrooms in search of threats! Godspeed.

Playing with liberals

Bemused like me...

...I pant breathlessly as I run by...
Know the adoring legions

Well, don't blink.
You might miss me again.

Progress on The Book (Cable7 @ 7). Gawd, I love talking to myself!
Just hope it transcribes better.

Major upheavals in the workplace. Ever had a job that overstayed its welcome?
Having Census2000 flashbacks here.
If it weren't for the most amazing coworkers in the world, I would be highly irritated by now.
> wait. I am highly irritated
*sigh* it's been a good run.

The truth shall be revealed!
blighters, blighter, blighters, more blighters.
Jon Tester,
endorsed by Daily Kos, as cited by the Trib!
(citation mysteriously disappeared from the
Gazette version)
Kossacks on a roll--they've won one primary & world domination is just ahead!
I LUV the Bubble Boy and his twittering minions. not.

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.
or you're a blighted liberal.
I'll say a prayer for you.

Hope you're playing this summer
