Re:"Gap-Toothed, Missing Link Troglodytes Delighted by Presidential Election Outcome"
Boy, I impress myself!
I have to share my response to some bigotry of the left.
My new favorite radio talker is Laura Ingraham (heard here in Great Falls on NewsTalk1450, from 6-9am weekdays). I try to stop in to Laura's website every other day to catch her "need to know" features and quotes of note.
Recently, she posted a link to a Nov 19 cartoon, Sutton Impact, from the Village Voice. I was so moved by this blue-stater snit that I fired off the following email to the VV editor:

Re: Sutton Impact
Dear Editor:
The Nov 19th, 2004 cartoon deserves some
"troglodyte" critique:
Ah, such beautiful, full-blown bigotry! Such stunning condescension and offensive stereotypes! Such a mean-spirited, heterophobic, America-hating tantrum toward the people of this great country! (I would gush still more, but I don't want to strain my funny-bone.)
I puzzle over the feature name, "Sutton Impact"...does this refer to the cartoonist's aching tooth? Or perhaps a mishap with a door or windshield? Or maybe just the revelation that blue-staters do not speak for "the people" they so revile?
I am glad that a red-stater brought your cartoon to my attention. It's further affirmation that those who smugly declare themselves "progressive," "liberal," "tolerant," etc, etc, are none of the
above. I can't help but marvel at the depth of blue-staters' hatred & contempt of the very people who secure their liberty to be complete ingrates and fools.
Happy irrelevance!

I encourage everyone out there to respond to or mock this kind of bigotry...it's so catharctic!
